SL720 and SL630 SmartLock SMM GYROS
SL720, as used by champion Duncan Osbourn at the 3D Masters! Watch his winning flights here!

The SmartLock SL720 and SL630 gyros take the CSM range one step higher.
For these gyros, CSM have chosen to replace the traditional ceramic sensor used in their other gyros with a new silicon micro-machined sensor from Analog Devices, America's leading sensor manufacturer.

These gyros offer a unique combination of bandwidth, dynamic range and stability - meaning theycan respond quicker, cope with faster pirouette speeds, and are drift free!

37 x 26mm, 16mm high, weight 16g
NEW features

  • New ultra-stable, high bandwidth, wide dynamic range silicon SMM sensor
  • SL720 can work with all standard digital servos, including the Futaba 9251, 9256 & BLS251. PC customisable to use 760 or 1520 microsecond centre pulsewidth. (Not usable with conventional servos). 250, 285 or 333 fps
  • SL630 has two internal settings - for use with small electric machines, or 30+ size. Link selectable frame rate.
  • Three-stage power supply regulation gives you the widest choice in operating voltage (3.3 to 8.4v) to optimise servo performance
  • Individually temperature calibrated - no more than 5 degrees drift per MINUTE at temperatures between -10 and +50 Centigrade
  • Vibration Isolating Mounting System (also available separately) to minimise vibration from powerful engines
The gyros come with all leads required, Vibration Isolating Mounting System, software for SL720, frame-rate link for SL630, and full instructions.

The SL720 can be interfaced to your PC using the optional LPT interface or USB adaptor - see Spares and Accessories - which makes the SL720 usable in non-standard applications such as the cyclic axes (see the CycLock page), camera stabilization, or simply for optimization for different models. For interesting info on using the SL720 gyro in specialist situations, see here

Small electric models: the 'e' mode of the SL630 is set up to suit small electric models eg T-Rex 450. To use the SL720 gyro with such models, use the PC interface to put the heading lock gain down to 42, and the conventional gain up to 140 - 180.

More info on the features and philosophy behind the SL720, and technical help on the PC interface can be found here
